The Orange Show Quarter Midget Racing Association

would like to welcome you to our web site.

Quarter Midget Racing is a non-profit organization with over 2,500 family memberships and approximately 4,000 drivers. There are 13 Regions in our organization and 50 Quarter Midget Clubs Nationwide. This sport is definitely the ‘best kept secret’ you'll ever come across. QMA is a family oriented sport that involves racing in special prepared cars. The cars, rules and safety procedures are designed specifically for kids. They race on oval tracks approximately 1/20 of a mile. A child who is 5 to 16 years of age can race. Safety features include full roll cages, multi-point seat harnesses, full face helmets, and other gear. This sport has fewer injuries than little-league football. The Quarter Midget Association is constantly reviewing and evaluating safety rules to ensure that quarter midget racing remains a safe competitive sport. The racing environment is about children and family. Not only do kids learn valuable skills and sportsmanship, but they also make new friends. Mom and Dad will make new friends too.

Hi Again,

We will not be doing an Exhibition Race this Saturday night at the Speedway. If you are interested in participating in future Exhibitions at the Speedway, the night before a Club Race, please let me know.
On Exhibition Days, we will be able to come to the Speedway any time after noon on Saturday. We will be doing the Exhibition Races on the infield of the Speedway, on our painted asphalt track, without the barriers, during the Saturday night Racing Events (approximately 8:00pm).
Each Exhibition Race will have the drivers come out from the ramp area onto the Speedway one at a time, then line up as were told, then run a 10-15 lap Exhibition Race, then come off the track and be pushed to the large flag stand to wave and be interviewed in front of the fans in the Grand Stands.
We are able to stay the night at the track for our Club Race the following day. There is 24 hour security.
We might also be able to run some Exhibition Races during the Speedway's Saturday night Racing Events on weekends that we don't have any OSQMRA Races.
Please let me know if you are interested in running in any of the Exhibitions, and which Saturday nights you would like to participate (OSQMRA Race Weekends, Non OSQMRA Race Weekends, or Both).

Thanks,
Kandice

Hi again with more info,
The Speedway is providing a Snack Bar. It will be located next to our track, near the speedway's flag stand. They will open at 7:00am.
They will have breakfast items, such as coffee and danishes.
They will have BBQ hot dogs and hamburgers for lunch.
They also have cookies, candy, drinks, etc....
We can bring our own food and drinks, but they need to be kept out of sight.
We also have coupons for a free breakfast burrito from Del Taco, which is across the street from the track. We will have these available at the Sign-In Table.

Kandice
PS. We will also have a portable grand stands next to our track.

Hi Everyone!
Just want to let you all know the exciting news:

KSNN (Kids Sports News Network - KHIZ Cable Channel) will be filming our Club Race #1 this Sunday. They will broadcast on Television within 14 days of filming. I will let you know the exact date when I get it.

We will be taking head shots of each driver and we will be giving a profile of all the Orange Show Quarter Midget drivers to KSNN (including: the drivers name, age, town, and race class).
They may also ask to interview some of the drivers.
We will have a waiver to sign, at Sign-In on Sunday, allowing your children to be filmed and photos to be taken and also allowing photos to be used on the web site.
** If anyone has a problem with any of this please let me know right away.

We will also be having some special guests; Joe Ganino (Orange Show Speedway's Director of Operations), the Operations Manager for the Orange Show Fairgrounds and possibly some of the Fairgrounds Board of Directors) watching our first race.

Thank you,
Kandice Attridge

Hi Everyone,
"WOW" IS ALL I CAN SAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our "Arrive and Drive" was Beyond Expectations!!!!!!!!
Super Job to Everyone!!!
We had 15 Families from our Club come out to help!!!  What a SUPER TEAM WE HAVE!!!!!!!!!!
We had over 130 kids come to test drive!!!
We had several families buy cars and join our club!!!!
WHAT  A SUCCESSFUL EVENT for bringing awareness to our sport, raising money for the club and helping our club grow!!
We could never have done this without each and everyone of you! Many of you worked your tails off for over 12 hours in the hot sun! You are all why this New Club is going to be Successful!!
Their isn't enough Thank Yous that can be said to let all of you know how much you are appreciated for giving up your entire Sunday for our children's sport, as well as, putting great joy into the lives of over 100 children that got to test drive our cars!!! They had a Blast!!!!
You are all heroes to your children!!! Don't forget it!!!!
Thank you all so much again and again for all you are doing for this great organization to make it Succeed! We truly are a great group!!!!
Sincerely,
Kandice

PS. We are sorry we weren't able to offer practice time following this event. We didn't finish the test drives until after 5:00pm. There were many families that had been at the track since 7:00am and were just beat from working all day in the hot sun. Then the take down took until 7:00pm, then many had up to 2 hour drives home in Sunday night traffic. We will do our best to try and incorporate some practice time in our next Arrive and Drive.
Just for clarification: Our club only has to pay to practice on scheduled Club Practice days (which covers the track rent charge), or you can pay to rent the track on your own, but you do not have to pay to practice (if time should allow for practice) at any of our other Racing Events (such as; Arrive and Drives or Race Days).

        Sunday Feb. 25th 2007
     Hello Jodi and Debbie,

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! For allowing our quarter midget club to be apart of the Fun Zone (mobile experience) at California Speedway!
I just want to thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity to bring awareness to this great youth sport! Being able to show our quarter midget car and talk to people about this sport was AWESOME!
After the three days, I could hardly speak from talking to so many families. There was over 400 families that are truly interested in coming out to our "Arrive and Drive" Event on April 1, 2007, to test drive our quarter midget cars.  That is more than we have ever had in the history of quarter midgets. There were so many families that didn't even know the sport existed, or that we raced in the area, or that children could race so young. They were amazed to hear that quarter midget racing is how most of the NASCAR drivers got started when they were kids.
Josh and your Best Buy Team were GREAT! They were so wonderful to work with. I miss them already. Even in the rain and freezing cold, it was a pleasure to work with them and be apart of the Best Buy Team!
Thank you so much again for this opportunity. We are forever grateful of your generosity and hospitality.
Thank you so much again for everything!

With sincere appreciation,
Kandice Attridge
