For immediate release from Bob Putnam, Orange Show Quarter Midget Racing Association Publicity Director:
In continuing the more than 20 year history of the club’s invitational event which has roots in Pomona, OSQMRA will host the official Ernie BoseTM World Record race * for the second year in a row at their new track on the Orange Show Fairgrounds, November 6 – 8, 2009 as previously announced.
Ernie Bose stated, on March 17, 2009, “Its an honor that OSQMRA will continue the tradition of this event at one of the finest and fastest Quarter Midget tracks in the country.”
The new track at Orange Show has proven that the fastest QM racing in the country still resides in Southern California. The sports first 4 second lap was turned on May 18, 2008 by the clubs own Matthew Wright in a Lt B. The first 4 second record lap in Light 160, with a Honda Engine, was set by Jarid Blondel at last year's annual running of the "Ernie Bose World Record Race" at Orange Show.
All QM racers regardless of sanctioning body affiliation are welcome to attend and take their best shot at earning a "World Record Title" and "Commemorative Jacket".
Information is also available at www.osqmra.com

A Memorial Fund has been set up for Jeff Schankerman, in care of Barbara Schankerman (thanks to Chris Swanson).
If you were considering helping out the Schankerman Family (Barbara, Aaron & Andrew) you might want to donate through the Memorial Fund.
Through the Memorial Fund your Donation is Tax-deductible (Barbara and the boys receive 100% of the donation).
Again, they truly appreciate the kind emails, signing of the guest book, phone calls, and some have sent some food, cards and gifts, which are all truly needed and appreciated very much.
Memorial Fund for the Schankerman Family
Barbara Schankerman's Husband had a Heart Attack and passed away Dec. 15, 2008
Jeff Schankerman was 44 years old

Jeff Schankerman with son Andrew at Pomona Track Jake Swanson and Jeff Schankerman 2008 Win at Ventura Speedway
Their family is devastated and in shock.
The Schankerman Family has given a tremendous amount of time to Quarter Midgets at Pomona and Orange Show, Region 11 and the California Monza. They have worked at every Grands they ever attended. Jeff was the first to utilize World Formula Power in a Half Midget at the 2003 Grands at Mini Indy. He did extensive research and testing with Hansen Racing Products to utilize the billet gearbox for the World Formula for Quarter Midget Racing. Jeff provided the #88 Ford Focus Midget to several young drivers giving them their first Focus rides, including: Danny Stratton, AJ Supan, Nick Carlsen and Jake Swanson. Jeff was an auditor for the US Government until he left to start his own Company - 1st Propane.
Please Remember them in your thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time during the Holidays.
If you feel so inclined, their family could probably use some Help in the next few weeks.
Jeff ran their Propane business, which will now suffer tremendously.
Barbara and the boys could probably use Grocery and Restaurant Gift Cards, or any monetary amount
to help them with their bills (in lieu of Flowers) while they try to pull their lives back together.
I will send information regarding a Remembrance Service as soon as I here.
Please take a moment to pass on your memories of Jeff, for the family, in the Guest Book
